It’s been an exciting couple of weeks for our furry friends here at Blind Tiger Inns as they have all been enjoying their bespoke treat cones which launched on International Dog Day!
Often more pampered than the customers; dogs are treated like royalty within Blind Tiger Inns, so it was only right we did something special for them. The treat cones were sourced from a small family-run business based in Leeds who specialise in animal treat cones. Inside were edible biscuits and a tennis ball to play with (sometimes also edible); neatly wrapped into a cone shape finished with a bespoke label and bow!
The label was an adaptation of the Blind Tiger Inns logo, replacing the tiger with a dog and changing the name to ‘Cute Dog Inns – we’re all barking mad here!’. The cones have been so well received by both dogs and owners with some travelling miles just to bring their dog to the pub for a treat cone! The initiative has also been picked up by multiple dog-friendly influencers who have shared it on their social media saying what an ‘amazing idea’ it has been!
Tony Thomas, operator at the Park View pub commented on the treat cones:
“It’s gone bonkers in our pub with dogs and their owners coming in for these treat cones! We are very popular with dogs anyway as we always make a fuss of them giving them water, treats and taking pictures of them for our social media, so this has just been fantastic!
I love that the team at head office do things like this as it goes such a long way with the community, and I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!”
Chris Tulloch, Managing Director also commented:
“We love dogs in our pubs, and we wanted to celebrate that by doing something that we’ve never seen done anywhere before and I think we achieved that! I’m super proud of the initiative from the cones to the branding and the reaction of the customers and dogs – it’s all been phenomenal!”
