Blind Tiger Inns have donated all their pool table income for July to local charities nominated by the customers. In the run up to July, the pubs asked their communities to nominate 4 charities with local connections to whom their pool table income could be donated, eventually choosing one based on the most votes on their social media polls.
The charities were extremely grateful with the amounts donated, commenting that it would significantly help all those using the charities. The Aigburth Arms donated a fantastic amount which bought much needed portable goal posts for Hillside Neighbourhood Centre while the Broadfield donated to The Base who feed 200 people every day for free. Other charities included cancer units, local hospices, children centres and homeless shelters.
Chris Tulloch, Managing Director of Blind Tiger Inns tells us,
“Each month we run a different offer or promotion; however, we decided that July we would switch this up and try raise money for some amazing local charities. Involving the customers to choose where the money was to be donated really made sure that people got behind the initiative.”
In the odd site across the estate that doesn’t have a pool table, the monies from the juke boxes were donated to the charities.
Chris went on to tell us;
“This is the first time we have run this kind of event, and it was very well received. Yes, it gave us a bit of a hit on our income line, but all in all it was a great way to raise over £3,000 for charity with such a simple mechanic and I am sure we will see it again next year!”
