Amsterdam in 36 hours: Teamwork, tulips and lots of Heineken

Fresh off the plane from Amsterdam, the team have just returned from 36 hours in one of Europe’s most vibrant cities, celebrating all their hard work during the World Cup.

The prize was awarded to all the pub managers who successfully ticked off their posts in the World Cup ‘Social Media Bingo’ challenge, resulting in pubs smashing targets and creating memorable moments for football fans throughout the tournament.

After a quick flight over the North Sea, the team landed early on Tuesday and headed straight for a hearty breakfast before their first activity of the day! Having worked closely with Star Pubs & Bars over the last 9 years, it was a no brainer that the team would visit the Heineken experience while in Amsterdam.

The tour was super insightful and very interactive, ending with everyone drinking the world-famous beer on the Heineken rooftop and playing team games where the Little B beat the Station Preston in a nail biting final!

A short stroll down one of the many canals, led the team to their afternoon activity of a canal cruise that quickly turned into a Blind Tiger booze cruise with everyone enjoying the gorgeous weather and sharing stories together.

After a quick change at the hotel, the team headed out for a delicious meal to line their stomachs for more alcohol and dancing in the late-night bars! Morning broke and the team headed to Dam Square for one final stop before taking the train to Schiphol Airport and waving goodbye to each other after what was a memorable 36 hours of quality time together!

Amy Cutler, Marketing Manager commented on the trip:

“What an amazing 36 hours we all had together! Whether we were exploring, eating, chatting or trying to navigate the city without accidentally walking in the cycle lane, the trip gave us plenty of chances to get to know each other outside of work which is what it’s all about.

It’s a pleasure to work with such a great group of people who all get along so well and helped make the trip so much fun! We can’t wait to see where the next one takes us!
