Liverpool is well known to Blind Tiger Inns with pubs on Mathew Street; opposite Aintree Racecourse and a stones throw from Sefton Park but The Argyll & Sutherland has become the first Blind Tiger pub to be opened over the water in Eastham.
The pub has received a significant investment, transforming both the inside and outside as well as creating 12 new jobs. The exterior work includes new signage lighting and café-style seating at the front. The beer garden has been modernised with artificial grass and the addition of new lighting, plants and furniture massively improving its kerb appeal.
A complete overhaul has taken place indoors with new features like booth seating, wall art, timber flooring and a modern bar spanning the length of the pub with steel shelving. There is also a dedicated sports zone with a new pool table, dart boards, big TV screens and amusement machines.
The pub offers a range of activities, including quizzes, bingo, live singers, and bands as well as fundraisers in support of charities selected by the community. The pub will also provide a meeting space for local organisations and groups with an emphasis on setting up teams for pool, darts, and other sports.
