The Blind Tiger Inns incentives come at you thick and fast, and the winners of the 2024 Christmas Social Media challenge had an unreal experience on their ‘Dublin in a Day’ trip this week.
The prize was awarded to all the pub managers who successfully ticked off the tasks in the Christmas ‘Social Media Bingo’ challenge, which proved a huge success. Success was measured in many ways, with the content created and quality of posts being the best to date.
The team of 22, including the head office team and all the winning pubs made their way to Manchester Airport for a very early start.
A hearty Irish breakfast in the most incredible café got the team into good spirits, and fully charged up for their first activity courtesy of Diageo; a tour of The Guinness Storehouse experience. The team enjoyed looking at all things Guinness, not just the brewing process but also the marketing and advertising too, which has produced so many classic campaigns over the years.
The tour ended on the highest level of the Storehouse, giving unrivalled views of the beautiful Dublin city, and the sun made an appearance too, meaning the customary pint of the black stuff tasted just that little bit sweeter!
The team were keen to explore even more drinks experiences, making the short trip to Roe and Co distillery, also found in the Liberties area of the city.
After seeing the Whiskey being distilled and learning about the heritage, it was time of course to sample the liquid, and get to work making a selection of cocktails. This was a real highlight for the team with some epic creations soon being made and of course, sampled!
More cocktails followed at Roe and Co, which were once again provided by the guys at Diageo.
Last on the tour was a trip to Dublin’s oldest pub, The Brazen Head, dating back to 1198. Here, a little more of the black stuff was consumed, before heading for a celebratory team dinner.
A great day was had by all, laughing and learning together, being rewarded for an excellent Christmas social media success.
Julie Bowers from the Rising Sun in Hazel Grave told us about the day:
“Its always fun being part of an activity with Blind Tiger, and this was no exception. We literally didn’t stop laughing all day, saw some amazing sights and can’t wait to hear about the next challenge for us to win a trip!”
