And just like that, the Christmas decorations are back in the cellar, the comedy Christmas jumpers are at the back of the wardrobe and its time to take on 2024.
In true Blind Tiger Inns style, its just 12 days since the big red fella parked up his sleigh and we are already undertaking our first investment project of the new year.
We are going straight for the jugular with this first project of 2024 which will see us undertake a full transformation of the Crown and Cushion in Chesterfield in just 6 days. We really do never stop pushing boundaries here!
The Crown and Cushion in Chesterfield is a historic pub in the market square, which has had quite an infamous past to say the least. Known for some time as Joplins Wine Bar and the Barrow Boy, it was renamed the Crown and Cushion when the Pavements shopping Centre opened.
This pub is one of the original Blind Tiger Inns sites, operated since early 2017 and this will be its second refurbishment. We love refurbishing traditional pubs such as this in Blind Tiger and will retain many of the original features. We will also be adding a touch of sparkle that we are sure will be loved by all, with nods to the magnificent history of this market town.
As ever, we will be adding a host of modern facilities to the pub, whilst retaining its original charm and character. Expect the latest TV, audio visual and sound systems, combined with a few Blind Tiger touches to bring the Crown and Cushion flying into the new year.
MD of Blind Tiger Inns, Chris Tulloch tells us more;
“We are very excited to kick off our 2024 investment programme in Chesterfield at the Crown & Cushion. Its 6 years since our last refurbishment here and we see great potential to create something unique for the town. It’s a great location and always a cracking atmosphere at any time of the day!”
Blind Tiger Inns operate 20 pubs across the North West and this is the first of a number of projects in the pipeline for Blind Tiger. Tulloch goes on to tell us;
“Starting our investment projects in January is part of our model, and once this is complete we have one more of our existing estate planned for a major overhaul this year. We are then looking at a number of additional sites to add throughout 2024”
The pub will reopen at 6pm on the 12th January and we look forward to welcoming customers old and new to the Crown and Cushion.
