The August bank holiday weekend got off to a great start as Blind Tiger Inns opened the Towneley Arms after being closed for 10 days while it was transformed into a premium local. It becomes the 19th pub within the Blind Tiger Inns estate which has almost doubled in size since it’s inception in 2017.
The investment at the Towneley Arms has been phenomenal with the aim of transforming it into a top-quality pub that caters for the whole community as well as creating 10 new jobs.
The exterior of the pub is impressive with new signage and botanical leaves hand-painted onto the classic cream walls giving it a fresh and contemporary look. The front beer garden has been revamped with cool swinging seating, making it perfect to watch the world go by on the busy Berry Lane. The rear garden has also been transformed with a colourful mural hand-painted by local graffiti artist, Jano.
Inside features include a cosy snug, lounge area, upgraded bar and a games room fitted out with contactless pool table, darts board and amusement screens. The pub will have a big focus on live sport with a variety of large HD screens around the pub as well as live entertainment at the weekend.
Chris Tulloch, Managing Director of Blind Tiger Inns, says the aim is to turn the Towneley Arms into “a hub of the community”.
The pub will host a range of activities, aiming to bring residents together with a big emphasis on sport with darts, pool, and other teams. It will also provide meeting space for local organisations, charities, and good causes.”
