The gala was set up to raise money and awareness for Rosemere Cancer Foundation which is a charity close to many people’s hearts that aim to achieve the best possible care for cancer patients across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
Five couples have been announced so far with another three to be announced next week. In addition to Gary & Shane, the other contestants include Thomas and Lydia from ‘Pendle Hill Proerties’ and ‘Catalyst’; Rebecca & Katie from ‘Build and Burn’ and McDade Roberts Accountants’; Jen and Phil from ‘The Foot Room’ and George and Bryony from GJB Group Ltd.
Former Strictly Come Dancing Professional, Ian Waite has also been announced as the Head Judge and BBC Radio Lancashire presenter, Graham Liver will be the host for the evening. Last year’s event raised a staggering £15,000 and this year is set to be even bigger and raise even more for such a wonderful charity.
Gary Towers, Manager of the Towneley Arms commented:
“What an honour it is to take part in such an amazing event! We have only been a part of the Longridge community since last August, but it feels like we have been here for years as everyone has been so welcoming and we have fit in perfectly!
We’re really enjoying the training and having such a laugh with it. We’re seeing it as a bit of fun while raising money for such a fantastic charity that is close to many people’s hearts. Roll on the final in April!”
