Local pubs get involved in ‘Wrap up Lancashire’ ready for winter

Local pubs The Broadfield Arms, The Rose and Crown, The Talbot and The Wishing Well collected coats for vulnerable individuals in need this winter in the Lancashire area.

The ‘Wrap up Lancashire’ initiative involved Rotarian’s in the area collecting old, unwanted coats and giving them to charities that support the homeless, refugees, children living in poverty and people fleeing domestic violence.

The pubs became drop off points for coats over a five week period and between the four of them collected over 100 coats! The community pubs within the estate love to get involved in initiatives like this as the customers are always so generous!

The collection was a huge success across the whole area with a phenomenal total of 5,970 items being collected! Throughout the whole of Lancashire, there were 5 other hubs and a total of around 20,000 coats collected! Blind Tiger Inns are very proud to be a part of this!

Phil Entwistle, President of Preston South Rotary commented: “Thank you for allowing use of your premises as collection points during our five week campaign. The coats, hats, gloves and scarves are being distributed to charities who deal with the homeless and vulnerable of our local area. We cannot thank you enough for making a difference in these people’s lives this year”.
