For the last four years, Neil Hailwood and hundreds of Santa’s have ascended Rivington Pike on a 15 mile circuit around Chorley and Horwich to raise money for Children’s Hospice, Derian House.
Derian House help children and young people, whose lives are too short, to make happy memories with the time they have left. They care for more than 400 children, 24 hours a day, seven days a week across the North West.
Starting and finishing from the Rose and Crown, it was only right they were involved in helping to raise money and awareness for this wonderful charity as well as looking after all the amazing Santa’s! Santa’s were welcomed back to the sound of Christmas music with a free shot for everyone who had completed the walk. The team laid out a fantastic spread in the stables of yummy hotpot and butter pie to feed all the hungry Santa’s!
The evening in the pub was as fun as the 15 mile walk with games, raffles and lots of prizes all to help raise money for Derian House. Jingle Ale the Way was also being served; the guest ale for this year’s walk, and DJ’s, Paul K and Patti helped everyone get into the party mood!
For the money committed so far from sponsors and Santa’s, an absolutely incredible £17,211.87 has been raised!
Founder and organiser of Jingle All the Way, Neil Hailwood said: “Jingle All the Way just seems to get better every year. We have so much help from many generous people and that is what makes this event possible. The Rose and Crown and the team at Blind Tiger Inns have been so supportive and I am so grateful for all their help before, during and after Jingle All the Way! Bring on 2020!!”
