It was a fantastic day for Blind Tiger Inns this week, seeing the total raised for Derian House at the annual Jingle All The Way event exceed an incredible £40,000
The total of £41,086 was raised in November 2023, during the 8th annual Santa walk. The walks, which started and ended at Blind Tiger Inn, The Rose and Crown, sees over 1,000 local folk dressed as Santa making the 15 mile round trip to the top of Rivington Pike and back.
It really is a staggering amount of money, and Neil Hailwood, Ambassador for Derian House visited us in the office this week to confirm the total amount raised;
“I want to thank you guys for all your support once again. The levels people in the local community go to are incredible every single year and knowing we can count on you guys makes a real difference.”
The event is organised by Neil and his loyal team of volunteer who work tirelessly to raise funds for Derian House every single year, with the total now being well over £100,000. With the event beginning and ending at the Rose and Crown pub its natural for Blind Tiger Inns to support the event, particularly making sure everybody is fed and watered after their long day.
Blind Tiger Inns have supported the event for years in a number of ways and loved watching it grow into the huge event it now is. In 2022 Blind Tiger even organised their Land Rover Defender bar to be at the summit, dishing out free and well deserved pints to all the hiking Santas.
Amy Cutler, marketing manager for Blind Tiger Inns tells us;
“Jingle All The Way is one of our favourite days of the year. The sight of so many people pulling together for a truly amazing cause is wonderful. We love to get involved as a head office team in the organising of the event, the suit distribution and of course the walk itself. We cant wait for Jingle number 8 in 2024”.
