Over £12,000 raised by Blind Tiger MD with London Marathon run!

Our Managing Director, Chris Tulloch was leading the charge over the weekend, completing the London Marathon in under four hours and raising over £12,000 in the process!

After months of early morning training throughout the winter, many blisters and funny coloured toenails, the efforts paid off and Chris completed the event in a very credible 3 hours and 44 minutes.

The aim was to raise over £10,000 for mental health charity “We are With You” and the goal has been completed comfortably thanks to the amazing generosity of our suppliers, customers, team members and friends of the business. We thank them all for their incredible support.

We also held a race night at one of the pubs local to head office, the Talbot, which contributed almost £1,000 and was a great night enjoyed by many.

The charity ‘We Are With You’ is one close to Blind Tiger Inns, with Chris undertaking other events for them in the past, including another marathon back in 2016 and the Tough Mudder event with the Star Pubs and Bars team.

On the charity choice, Chris tells us, “We like to support the less well-known charities and the work done by We Are With You to support people fighting addictions with drugs, alcohol and gambling is incredibly important”

There was a team of 15 people, all running in support of the charity in London, between them raising almost £40,000 which is an incredible achievement and will go a long way! Liv Driver from the charity, who orchestrated the team and logistics of the event told us quite simply, “We can’t express how grateful we are; You are all amazing!”.

Chris tells us;

“I said I would never run a marathon again, but here we are! The training has had me out running again which does so much for my own mental health. We Are With You do amazing work with no judgement and I am extremely grateful they let me join the team to raise vital funds for them.

I want to thank every single person and business that has helped me reach this incredible target. You have all given so generously and to raise over £10,000 has completely blown me away – thank you!”

We’re not sure if he’ll be running a third one but there is still time to donate so if you can spare anything, please do here!
