This weekend, hundreds of thousands of people arrived in Aintree for the biggest horse race in the world as the infamous Grand National Festival took place! Just a stone’s throw from action is our Aintree pub, The Queens Arms pub which arguably threw the best Grand National Unofficial Afterparty to date!
Celebrating our 9th year, the party has grown every year with racegoers not just returning to the festival, but to the pub also. This year was no different and as soon as those doors opened at 10am, people were ready to drink, dance and party to female house DJ, Laura Dean who kicked off the three-day party nice and early.
Over the National weekend, we double our footprint with a huge marquee spanning the whole of the car park, fitted with a large container bar and main stage for entertainment. There is also an additional bar inside the pub to relieve the main bar and a converted Land Rover Defender bar in the rear beer garden. There were more bars and facilities than ever before to ensure seamless service and the best experience for all.
Festival flags, balloon displays, stilt walkers, food vans and flip flop vendors all played a part over the weekend and were key in encouraging customers to come in on their way to and from the racecourse.
The party stepped up a level from 4pm when DJ Laura was joined by three of her bandmates to form an all-female line up, Elements Girl Band! Their performance was electrifying with soulful vocals from singer, Chesqua and fire energy from Miranda and Ailsa on saxophone and drums. People were dancing all night long and local resident, Ryan is now famous after his moves to song, ‘Bamboleo’ went viral!
There really was no better place to be and we’re already excitedly planning 2025!
