Blind Tiger Inns holds its first ever Training Day

For the first time ever on Tuesday 5th October, pub managers across Blind Tiger Inns came together in one room to attend a training day on products, processes and how to maximise the potential in their businesses.

The training day was born out of manager feedback during the lockdowns as something they thought would be of great benefit to them and their teams. Equally, Blind Tiger Inns really wanted to bring together managers old and new after the lockdowns to have a real party!

The training was designed not only to be informative and help the managers maximise their full potential but also to be fun and to enable the sharing of ideas amongst managers. Various suppliers gave talks on the day including talks on AWP machines, perfect serve with Heineken, wine training with D’Vino Wines and spirits and mixers training from Diageo.

As well as training from industry giants; ‘Operational Handbooks and Best Practice’ guides were handed out which have since become ‘The Blind Tiger Bible’. These handbooks were designed with new managers in mind to help them integrate into the business as quickly as possible but they have also become essential for managers that have been with the business for years.

After a full day of training, managers went back to their hotel to get ready for the hog roast and party night. The drinks were flowing and the entertainment provided was second to none. The evening gave the managers an insight to what entertainment they could put on in their pubs and many of them took ideas away from the entire day and night to implement within their own businesses.

Nick Buckle, Operations Manager at Blind Tiger Inns commented:

“The training day was a great opportunity to get old and new managers together, learn about different products and processes and most importantly, have fun! We constantly listen to feedback from our managers and strive to deliver what they ask for and this training day is a great example of how we do that. We are already thinking how we can do something bigger and better in 2022!”

Sarah Smith, Manager of The Station also commented:

“Once again, Blind Tiger Inns have listened and delivered what we have all been asking for and it is refreshing to work for a company that constantly does this. I took my supervisor with me on the day and we had such a great day not only with the training but also at the party! They really didn’t have to put us all up in a hotel and throw a party but that is just another reason why I love working for them so much!”
