The Station Hotel has officially reopened its doors after a dramatic transformation. The historic Stamford New Road venue has undergone a major £250,000 refurbishment that has seen the pub transformed throughout in just 11 days.
From the outside, the pub looks noticeably different, but it is the inside of the pub that is the real head turner! The old games room that was previously home to a single pool table and darts board has been converted into a new lounge area visible from the street.
New bi folding doors open onto a courtyard that is now an inviting area to come and enjoy a drink after work and people watch during the lighter spring evenings. Two large screens have been added to the courtyard ready for the World Cup later this year.
The former raised seating area is now a dedicated sports games room with two interactive dart boards and two pool tables, all free to play until 7pm on weekdays. An additional 12 new screens have been installed throughout the pub, positioning itself as the place to go in Altrincham for live sport.
The bar has been extended to allow service from multiple points with the addition of new products and the pubs very own beer – Blind Tiger Pilsner! The toilets have seen the biggest transformation and have been fully upgraded with gorgeous artwork running throughout.
Manager Dan Milward commented on the transformation:
“The work has touched every corner of the pub, and no stone has been left unturned. It’s now a place you can find yourself in catching up with friends, watching sport, on a date night or just doing a bit of work in the day.
We’re certain all our customers will be happy with the changes, but they are also intended to attract a new crowd and appeal to a wider audience. We want to make everyone aware that we are the home of sport and that we are still welcoming all the Altrincham FC and Manchester Utd/City fans as well as Manchester Storm supporters.”
Managing Director of Blind Tiger Inns, Chris Tulloch added:
“The transformation of the Station Hotel was a risk, but you don’t get reward without taking risks.
We did a lot of research into the Altrincham market and realised there was a gap in the market to do something different. We’ve provided a space that appeals to a wider audience which was our main aim as well as ensuring we have longevity within the business.
It’s still early days but we’ve seen a massive increase in footfall and volume with glowing reviews from everyone. Our job is just beginning, and we need to keep the momentum going to be the best place to go in Altrincham which we’re confident we are.”
