For the fifth year running, The Rose and Crown in Chorley has been part of ‘Jingle All the Way’; where hundreds of people dressed as Santas ascended Rivington Pike on a 15 mile circuit around Chorley and Horwich to raise money for Children’s Hospice, Derian House.
After missing out on Jingle all the Way in 2020, everyone was more than ready for this year’s challenge with a record number of Santas turning out for the walk on Saturday 13th November. After registration, everyone gathered in the Rose and Crown before listening to a talk from Founder and Organiser, Neil Hailwood who was joined by community legends and volunteers from Derian House.
The day passed by quickly with lots of water (beer) stops and after summiting at 1pm, everyone was back at the Rose and Crown ready for a night of food, drinks, games and plenty of fundraising! The guest ale ‘Jingle Ale The Way’ was back on with 25p from every pint bought going to Derian House. This together with the raffles and amazing fundraising on the lead up to the event, resulted in an incredible £25,650 being raised for Derian House – a record amount!

Derian House help children and young people, whose lives are too short, to make happy memories with the time they have left. They care for more than 400 children, 24 hours a day, seven days a week across the North West.
