After beginning the fundraising in summer, the defibrillator has now been installed at The Park View. With the help of the community and one generous family in particular; the pub was able to purchase a defibrillator along with a lockable case to store the device in safely and so that it’s accessible 24 hours a day!
Having a defibrillator in the community is so important but even more so with the proximity to Turf Moor and the amount of footfall there is on match days. Now that the defibrillator has been installed, it will be registered on ‘The Circuit’ which notifies emergency services there is a defibrillator nearby that can be used if needed.
Mike Daubney, Manager of the Park View commented:
“We are so happy that the defibrillator has finally been installed and I can’t thank the community enough as without them, it wouldn’t have been possible! Even after the break in over summer when our charity boxes were stolen; we didn’t let it stop us and we kept on going!
I also want to say a special thank you to the Hall family who came to me and offered to buy the defib, you really are amazing! Because of this, we have been able to donate any additional funds to the NICU ward at Burnley General hospital which will go towards helping babies requiring intensive and high dependency care.
