Blind Tiger Inns announce their New York City challenge for 2023!

As part of the development of general managers within the Blind Tiger Inns team, Blind Tiger added some spice to their bonus scheme, with Sarah Smith of the Station in Preston being announced as the winner of a trip to Las Vegas!

This year, every single manager within the Blind Tiger estate has the chance to win a trip to New York City and we are hoping to take as many managers as possible.

The prize is based on the bonus scheme within Blind Tiger which is a monthly paid scheme, giving managers the opportunity to tick off certain targets to achieve payments up to £1,500 monthly. The targets are not based on turnover, giving all pub managers the opportunity to achieve them.  Targets include stock control, machine income, entertainment planning and overall profit.

Anybody who receives the maximum bonus, known within the company as a ‘clean sweep’, on any three months from 12 is guaranteed a seat on the plane to New York City!

The bonus scheme was introduced in 2018 and has grown ever since. Managing Director Chris Tulloch tells us;

“When we introduced the scheme, the decision was two-fold. One, reward our managers with bonuses. But two, we wanted to really develop managers who are on a turnover or percentage-based model to become business people.

No longer would chasing turnover be the only goal.  Its been a fantastic scheme, however we always like to develop ourselves and our people and adding the Las Vegas and New York incentives has created a real buzz in the team!”

Sarah, of the Station was, of course, delighted to win the award;

“I’ve worked with great companies before, however Blind Tiger are always incentivising and helping us drive ourselves. Its certainly all about the carrot, not the stick, and really feels like we are all part of the same team with the same goals.  I can’t wait to visit Las Vegas, and it’s made me super keen to keep driving my business and get a seat on the plane to New York next year!”

Blind Tiger clearly like to keep their people engaged and Chris goes on to tell us;

“I am delighted for Sarah Smith from the Station Hotel in Preston, who is heading off to Vegas in March with Nick Buckle our Operations Manager. Hopefully lots of managers manage to achieve 3 consecutive clean sweeps in 2023 and we can get a bigger group flying out to New York next year.”
