We’re always fast and furious when it comes to our transformations, but we have set a record and for the first time in 7 years, we have transformed a pub in just six days!
Set on one of Chesterfields busiest streets, the Crown and Cushion is an iconic pub with many traditional features, so it was important that we retained these features while also injecting it with quirkiness and personality!
The biggest change to the exterior of the pub was the removal of the antiquated stained-glass windows, replacing them with clear glass, making the inside of the pub much more visible and inviting from the outside. On entering the pub, you’re hit with bright florals and foliage that have modernised the pub and new fixed seating that allows for various groups of customers.
Graffiti has transformed the ceiling with a ‘Good Vibes Only’ mural and this theme follows through into the toilets with a ‘Girl Power’ mural in the ladies and bright coloured skulls in the gents. The bar that spans the length of the pub has been transformed making it an even better feature than before and the latest TVs, audio visual and sound systems have been added.
Gill and Diane, Managers of the Crown & Cushion commented on the transformation:
“We can’t believe the difference in just six days! We weren’t sure how our customers would react to the graffiti and the florals, but everyone loves the changes. The windows have also made a huge difference as the inside of the pub can be seen walking across the market square which shows how good it looks inside.
We’ve only worked with Blind Tiger Inns for 6 months, but they have consistently made positive changes and the refurbishment is the icing on the cake! We’re very excited to see what 2024 holds for us and the pub.”
