Not one, but TWO Blind Tiger Inns pubs were involved in the Manchester Marathon on Sunday, although neither of them did any running! Situated at the end of the Adidas Celebration Zone, The Grosvenor hosted the unofficial after party, which was without doubt the place to be.
With a live DJ, crazy giveaways and a free pint of BrewDog Cold Beer for all medal holders, there was little reason to go anywhere else. Jägermeister also hosted an activation at the pub, with the opportunity to try the brand-new Jägermeister Orange, making The Grosvenor one of the first places where it was possible to get their new product.
With nothing quite like the first sip of an ice-cold pint after a run, and with it located so close to the finish zone, it was expected to be a busy one for The Grosvenor.
The second (but actually the first) Blind Tiger pub runners encountered was the Little B in Sale, who hosted their ‘Little Beer Stop’ at mile 17 of the marathon.
With a live DJ, the loudest cheers and a small shot of Thwaites Paradise (because beer is made from water), the Little Beer Stop was far from just a stop; it was a full-on celebration zone designed to lift spirits and power runners through that final stretch.
Martin Lambe, Manager of The Grosvenor, spoke about the marathon:

The whole team and I were buzzing on Sunday and loved welcoming all the medal holders for some freebies and the best vibes in town. We were also super excited to be one of the first venues to try Jäger Orange, as this had only just landed in the on-trade.”
Manager of the Little B, John Almond, also commented
“We had our hilarious signs ready to spur everyone on and our goal was to make sure we were the loudest and best stop along the course.
We wanted to be remembered as the place in people’s minds that, when it was getting tough, we got them through those last 10 miles. What a Sunday!”
